RANDWICK trainer Grahame Begg has conceded Saturday's Chelmsford Stakes (1600m) at Warwick Farm could be a bogey race for his talented mare Secret Admirer, reports the Daily Telegraph.

It says: The multiple Group 1 winner yesterday firmed from $3.60 to $3.20 to win the Group 2 event with the TAB and while delighted with her condition, Begg feels she may be vulnerable second-up.

"I think she will run well but sometimes when they go as well as she did first-up, they don't often come back and reproduce," he said.

"It could be a bogey race for her."

Secret Admirer flashed late to run second behind Pinwheel in the Warwick Stakes (1400m) recently.

"She is being aimed at longer races deeper in to the spring carnival and I wouldn't be surprised if she just races a touch more dour second-up," he said.

"Her coat isn't quite there yet, she still has good improvement to come and I want her to be peaking in a month to six weeks."

Secret Admirer was yesterday allotted 53kg in the Caulfield Cup, a weight that pleased Begg.

"I'm still not decided whether we go to the Caulfield Cup or the Cox Plate, the advantage of Caulfield is that she drops from weight-for-age ... and is advantaged but the unknown is whether she can run a strong 2400m," he said.
