Secret Admirer will join an elite group of mares if she can win Saturday's Group One Coolmore Classic at Rosehill.

The Grahame Begg-trained four-year-old has topweight of 58kg with only three mares carrying a comparable impost to victory since the race's inception in 1973.

Emancipation, trained by Begg's father Neville, won with 60kg in 1984.

Sunline twice lumped the same weight to victory in 2000 and 2002 while Bounding Away, who carried 57.5kg when she scored in 1987, is the only other mare to have won the Coolmore with more than 56kg.

Begg says his charge has earned her weight given she has won the Flight Stakes and Epsom Handicap at the elite level.

And while acknowledging the task she faces, he is adamant Secret Admirer is up to it.

"Definitely. She's in good shape," Begg said.

"It is tough. It's never easy and they don't give them (Group Ones) away.

"(But) I suppose she deserves that weight. She is a dual Group One winner."

A field of 14 was paid up for the Coolmore Classic (1500m) on Wednesday and TAB Sportsbet has installed filly Streama the $2.90 favourite despite an awkward gate in nine.

Secret Admirer is a $9.50 chance and Begg is pleased with her draw in six.

The mare heads to the Coolmore third-up after resuming with a solid third to No Evidence Needed in the Southern Cross Stakes (1200m) under 59.5kg.

She was a shade disappointing when fifth to Steps In Time in a leader-dominated Wiggle Stakes (1400m) last time out but Begg said the tempo of the race went against her.

"She ran very well first-up with the big weight and ran home nicely," Begg said.

"Second-up, it wasn't run to suit her with the small field.

"We're looking for some more tempo on Saturday hopefully."

Begg will also saddle up Ilovethiscity in a cracking renewal of the Group Two $175,000 Canterbury Stakes (1300m).

Ilovethiscity is one of eight Group One winners in the 15-strong field which also includes More Joyous, Sincero, Albert The Fat and Metal Bender.

"It's a great race. It's deserving of better prizemoney and a better Group rating," Begg said.

Ilovethiscity will be having his first start since September after his spring campaign was cut short by injury.

He has had three recent barrier trials and will be kept to shorter trips this campaign.

"Whatever he does on Saturday he will improve on," Begg said.

"He will run in the George Ryder then hopefully the All-Aged.

"We didn't pay up for him in the Doncaster.

"I want to keep him to lower distances. His main aim is Brisbane."
