Favourite Typhoon Tracy can cement her status as Horse of the Year-elect with victory in the Doncaster Mile at Randwick on Saturday but she will have no shortage of challengers.
A full field of 20 plus one emergency was declared when acceptances were taken for the famous Randwick mile on Tuesday with Typhoon Tracy remaining the $3 favourite on TAB Sportsbet despite drawing barrier 14.
Second favourite Danleigh ($6) drew immediately to Typhoon Tracy's outside while his stablemate Rangirangdoo ($7) will jump from gate 10.
Topweight with 58kg for the Doncaster is multiple Group One winner Theseo after trainer Gai Waterhouse made the surprise decision to run him after his fourth in the BMW (2400m).
He was reinstated into markets on Monday and was at $16 on Tuesday afternoon.
Triple Honour, winner of the 2008 Doncaster, will join his Chris Waller-trained stablemates Rangirangdoo and Danleigh in the race and jumps from barrier two.
"I'm pretty happy with all three," Waller said.
"Danleigh has won three Group Ones and hasn't fluked any of them.
"Rangirangdoo is consistent and on his way to a Group One and Triple Honour has had his best preparation for some time.
"From the barriers they should all be able to settle into their racing patterns."
Grahame Begg is upbeat about the chances of Villiers Stakes winner Palacio De Cristal who drew barrier three and is a $13 chance.
"I'm very happy and hopefully the weather holds and the track won't be any worse than dead for her," Begg said.
"She will have her final gallop on Wednesday morning on the Kensington track.
"She had a gallop on Saturday so we decided not to gallop her today.
"Obviously Typhoon Tracy is the one to beat but we will be closing late and the Villiers is usually a good form race for the Doncaster.
"Perhaps it would have suited her to have drawn out a bit wider than three but there will be speed on and that suits."
Fellow trainer John O'Shea believes Argentinian Group One winner Snapy Halo is a genuine lightweight chance with 51kg and Melbourne-based apprentice Jason Maskiell aboard.
"He's hitting his peak at the right time," O'Shea said.
"With a genuine tempo, gate 11 and a light weight he's a good 20-1 pop."
Snapy Halo is at $26 as is New Zealander Wall Street who will be ridden by Opie Bosson from barrier seven.
Tobique is an outsider at $71 but his participation has special significance for owners Geoff and Beryl White.
Although they have raced many great horses over 35 years including Marscay and Eremein, Tobique will be their first Doncaster runner.
Newcastle Newmarket winner Walking Or Dancing fared worst in the barrier draw with the outside alley and drifted from $35 to $71.
