Champion mare Typhoon Tracy is dominating betting across the country for the Group Two Australia Stakes at Moonee Valley.

TAB Sportsbet has her firming from $2.40 to $2.15 and hasn't ruled out her starting as short as even money for Friday night's 1200m feature.

Sportingbet Australia has trimmed The Peter Moody-trained mare from $2.30 to $2.20 while Centrebet has her price under pressure at $2.35.

Moody said Typhoon Tracy was primed for a big first-up run in the Australia Stakes after a winless spring.

"She's going super," Moody said. "I'm really pleased with her."

The winner of 10 of her 18 starts, Typhoon Tracy is unbeaten in three runs at 1200m and Moody is confident she can improve on that record.

Her 1200m wins were at her first three starts before Moody put her on a Group One-winning path in longer races.

In 2009 the reigning Australian Racehorse of the Year won the Coolmore Classic (1500m) at Rosehill and the Myer Classic (1600m) at Flemington.

Last year she won Caulfield's Orr Stakes (1400m) and Futurity Stakes (1600m), and the Queen Of the Turf (1500m) at Rosehill which was her last success in April.

"The only reason I haven't run her at 1200 metres in the last two years is because she has raced so long into the spring," Moody said.

"Last spring she was aimed at the Cox Plate and didn't run it, then came back to the mile (and ran second in the Myer Classic).

"She didn't have long off and I thought now she might have needed 1200 metres to put a bit of speed back into her.

"But she is going like a bomb at home, going every bit as good as she ever has."

TAB Sportsbet's Gary Davies said about 80 per cent of the money had been for Typhoon Tracy while Centrebet's Neil Evans said his book was holding 90 per cent on the Red Ransom mare.

"They just want to be on her and not backing anything to beat her," Davies said.

"If the one-way traffic continues she might even get in to even money ($2)."

Evans said punters had unloaded on Typhoon Tracy.

"She's the only one they want, backing her heavily from the first market price of $2.40 down into $2.35," he said.

He said that Ortensia was the only other runner being looked at but she was out from $5.50 to $6.

"There's barely nickels and dimes for anything else in the race," Evans said.

Scenic Shot has been scratched reducing the field to nine.

Heart Of Dreams, Whitefriars and Vigor are among the other notable starters.
