Trainer Rodney Douglas and owner Jonathon Munz are hoping for success in numbers with a three-horse play at Bendigo on Wednesday.

Unraced two-year-olds Kiss Of Life and Coulis will clash with stablemate Remote Reading in the Hyperno Handicap (1000m) at the Victoria Racing Club meeting.

"We will try and wear them down with numbers," Douglas said of his three youngsters in the capacity field of 15.

He said Stravinsky gelding Kiss Of Life was probably his best chance while he has big hopes for Zabeel filly Coulis as she gets experience and expects improvement from Remote Reading.

Douglas said Kiss Of Life was a good mover and looked like making an early two-year-old before he went shin-sore after two official trials last spring.

"We got him going again later but he was a bit coltish so we gelded him and we have him ready now to kick off," Douglas said.

Kiss Of Life was bought in New Zealand for $155,000 and his dam Smooch, by Rory's Jester, is a half-sister to A Little Kiss who was a Group One winner of the Flight Stakes and Queensland Oaks.

"He has shown good ability and hopefully he can run well," Douglas said.

Apprentice Logan McGill will claim two kilos on Kiss Of Life who will carry 54kg and is well served in barrier one.

Coulis is a half-sister to Douglas' stakes-performed gallopers Roubechon and Bocuse but being by Zabeel will need time to realise her potential.

"I've got a good opinion of her and she might be one with a good future," Douglas said.

"She's a nice filly who has had a couple of jumpouts and can go a bit."

He said the likelihood of a slow track would probably be against her but Remote Reading, who was first emergency on Wednesday and gets a start with the scratching of Summarise, "seems to handle wet tracks".

"She had a couple of runs back in the spring and went okay," Douglas said.

Remote Reading was spelled after finishing fifth to Rostova in the Schiavello Stakes and had only one run in the autumn when unplaced at Mornington.

An interesting runner is the Lee Freedman-trained Finessed.

The well-bred son of Redoute's Choice and dual stakeswinner Toast Of The Coast cost $1 million as a yearling and Matthew Allen will ride him at his debut.
