The decision not to run Triple Honour in the Perth Cup hasn't necessarily spelled the end of his summer campaign.

The six-year-old is back in the east after three starts in Perth where he beat one runner home in the Railway Stakes, ran sixth in the Kingston Town and fourth in last Saturday's CB Cox Stakes.

Trainer Chris Waller said Triple Honour could run in the Tattersall's Club Cup (2000m) at Randwick on New Year's Day before going for a short break.

"He's back in Melbourne and will come back to Sydney over the weekend," Waller said.

"I'm not sure what to do, he might even have another run in the Tatt's Cup on New Year's Day before he has a break.

"The main focus will be the Hollindale Cup and the Doomben Cup over the Queensland carnival."

Waller said the Ascot track in Perth was firmer than those Triple Honour was used to and he wasn't too disappointed with his past two runs.

Triple Honour holds a special place in Waller's stable as the trainer's first Group One winner, a feat he achieved in the 2008 Doncaster as a three-year-old.

He has since mixed his form but had his best couple of months for some time earlier this year when he followed Group One placings in the Queen Elizabeth Stakes and Doomben Cup with a win in the Group Two Eagle Farm Cup.
