Group One winning filly Streama will be joined by her less experienced but talented stablemate Appearance in Saturday's Surround Stakes on their home track of Warwick Farm.

The Group Two Surround Stakes (1400m) is the next step on the way to Group One races such as the Coolmore Classic and the Doncaster for Streama while it is a step up in grade for Appearance who is owned by Sheikh Mohammed.

Trainer Guy Walter has been pleased with Streama since her first-up second to Sea Siren in the Light Fingers Stakes where she was beaten a short neck.

"I was disappointed she didn't win but not disappointed in her," Walter said.

"She ran well and has done well since.

"She didn't win her first start last time either."

The filly ran third in the Silver Shadow Stakes when she resumed in the spring then put together wins in the Furious and Tea Rose Stakes before her dominant 5-1/4 length win over Hallowell Belle in the Group One Flight Stakes.

Walter said the wet weather in NSW had not hampered training at Warwick Farm or his satellite stable at Goulburn where parts of the town are flooded.

"We are up pretty high at Goulburn away from the worst of it," he said.

"We are lucky at Warwick Farm and Streama worked on the grass on Wednesday with Appearance who also runs in the Surround."

Appearance has had just four starts, winning her debut on a heavy track as a late two-year-old followed by a second to subsequent stakes winner Aeronautical.

She was given a long spell and resumed with another heavy track win over 1100 metres at Canterbury last month followed by a fourth at the same track over 1250 metres.

Walter was pleased with the effort of Derby aspirant Doctor Doom to finish 4-1/2 lengths from Wild And Proud in Saturday's Group Two Hobartville Stakes (1400m) and also with Brightest who finished second to wet tracker Mr Make Believe over 1500 metres.

"They both went well and Doctor Doom heads to the Randwick Guineas while Brightest will go to the Aspiration Quality," he said.

The Listed Aspiration Quality (1600m) for fillies and mares is on March 17, the same day as the Group One Randwick Guineas over the same distance.

The race will be Brightest's first at stakes level as she tries to improve on her record of three wins and five placings from just nine starts.
