A decision on Sydney's autumn carnival dates for the next three years has still not been reached, with Racing NSW chief executive Peter V'landys expecting to have the matter finalised in the next few days.

The board of Racing NSW has heard submissions from both the Australian Jockey Club (AJC), the Sydney Turf Club (STC) and Events NSW.

"There's no dates been fixed yet, we are still discussing the matter with the various parties and I would expect to have the matter resolved in the next couple of days," V'landys said Tuesday.

The STC has called for an early decision to enable the club to plan major non-raceday functions.

The club's showpiece Grand Pavilion, a $30 million grandstand and function centre at Rosehill, is in high demand and the Caravan and Camping show is a huge money-spinner each year.

Because of the Easter timetable, NSW race dates vary each year and many bodies are keen to lock in the dates to coordinate with the Victorian autumn races.

For the past 30 years the AJC has conducted the Derby on Easter Saturday and does not want to lose the date.
