Multiple Group One winner Sniper's Bullet has returned to work with another three state campaign planned for the spring and summer.

Trainer Tracey Bartley picked Sniper's Bullet up from the spelling paddock on Friday after the gelding spent 10 weeks resting after an eventful autumn preparation.

Bartley has races in Sydney, Melbourne and Perth planned for the three-time Group One winner later this year, the same as last year when his preparation culminated in Group One wins in the Railway Stakes (1600m) and Kingston Town Classic (1800m) in the west.

"I'll probably run him in The Shorts again first-up at Randwick," Bartley said.

"He'll then go to Melbourne and he'll probably go towards the Emirates Stakes if he hasn't got too much weight.

"I'm getting him into work a fortnight earlier this year because he peaked in Perth last year.

"Being a bit older now I just want him back in just that little bit earlier to get ready."

After Melbourne, another West Australian excursion awaits the well-travelled rising seven-year-old.

"For sure," Bartley said when asked if Perth was on the cards again.

"I just hope he doesn't get too much weight in the Railway, otherwise I'll just run him in the weight-for-age races over there."

Sniper's Bullet hasn't raced since finishing last in the Group One George Ryder Stakes (1500m) at Rosehill in April.

Bartley said Sniper's Bullet was in the paddock the following day after an autumn campaign that was filled with drama.

After running in Perth in the summer, the gelding was due to resume in the CF Orr Stakes at Caulfield but an elevated blood count ruled him out of the race.

He was subsequently placed at Group One level in both the William Reid Stakes (1200m) at Moonee Valley and the Futurity Stakes (1600m) at Caulfield.

The 2007 Stradbroke winner then came to Sydney but struck trouble when he got loose at Warwick Farm one morning when being loaded onto a float and ended up colliding with a car.

Luckily he escaped serious injury and was able to run in the George Ryder a few weeks later before going for a spell.
