Tracey Bartley says Sniper's Bullet looks better than ever as he prepares the multiple Group One winner for an earlier than usual spring campaign return in the Missile Stakes.

Sniper's Bullet is one of four Group One winners nominated for the season's first weight-for-age contest at Randwick on Saturday.

Danleigh, Headway and Newport were also among the 11 entries for the Group Three sprint over 1200 metres but nominations for the Missile and also the Group Three San Domenico Stakes (1000m) have been extended until Tuesday morning.

Bartley has given Sniper's Bullet two exhibitions gallops in country NSW - at Dubbo and Wellington - and said the seven-year-old was ready to "run really well" in his season debut.

"I reckon I've got him sharper than when he ran third (in the Group One William Reid Stakes) in Melbourne first-up last preparation because he went into that a little flat after having a virus," Bartley said.

"He seems to be really good, he's dancing around at the moment. He'll gallop hard in the morning (Tuesday) and it's all systems go for Saturday."

Blake Shinn has been booked to ride Sniper's Bullet on Saturday.

Shinn has ridden Sniper's Bullet twice, both being first-up runs.

He was last aboard the galloper when he finished fifth in the Group Three Jayco Cup (1400m) at Caulfield in October 2008 with his only other ride resulting in a third to Paratroopers in the Group Two Expressway Stakes (1200m) in February that year.

Sniper's Bullet didn't make his spring return until the Group Two Shorts at Randwick in October last year but is back earlier this season after bypassing a Stradbroke Handicap campaign for the first time in four years.

"We're in for a long campaign hopefully and we'll just see where it takes us," Bartley said.

The gelding is scheduled to progress to the Group Two Warwick Stakes (1400m) on August 21 after the Missile.

After that Bartley will decide when to head to Melbourne.

"Hopefully he peaks in Melbourne this year," he said.

Another Perth trip is also planned following the Melbourne spring carnival.

Sniper's Bullet completed the Group One Railway Stakes and Kingston Town Classic double last year.

Boom sprinter Love Conquers All, a last start winner of the June Stakes defeating Hay List, is also nominated to resume from a let-up in the Missile while Gai Waterhouse has entered former American multiple stakeswinner Cannonball.

Rick Worthington has also selected the Missile Stakes as the spring starting point for last-start Wagga Wagga Gold Cup winner Sainthood.
