Talented mare Ro's Purring could be in line for an interstate spring trip if she maintains her unblemished record on Saturday.

Ro's Purring is unbeaten in three starts and will make her comeback in the Belle Property Handicap (1000m) at Eagle Farm.

The five-year-old daughter of Lonhro hasn't raced since scoring a narrow win in a 900-metre class four at the Gold Coast on March 13 which followed her explosive win over 1000 metres at Eagle Farm in January.

Ro's Purring's career has been plagued by knee injuries but trainer Michael Lakey is confident she may have outgrown her problems.

"She had a high reserve on her as a yearling at the Inglis Sales but the X-rays she had a week before showed she had some spurs on the knee which required an operation," Lakey said.

Lakey regularly takes her to Sandgate beach on Brisbane's northern outskirts for exercise instead of the hard grind of trackwork.

"She does a lot of work at the beach wading in the water and she really appreciates it," he said.

"She's coming along really well and is very forward for this race.

"I've only given her one trial leading up to this race but I'm very confident she'll race well.

"It's only 1000 metres and she's well and truly fit enough to win."

Lakey had hoped Ro's Purring would measure up to the Brisbane winter carnival before deciding to spell her after her last run.

"I've picked out two runs for her this campaign as I'm still not sure yet how many runs she can take," he said.

"She could go for a trip away if she comes up but nothing is definite yet and I haven't spoken to her owners about it yet."

Ro's Purring was ridden by Michael Cahill when she finished second to The Chanster in a 900-metre barrier trial at Doomben on July 27.

"I wasn't able to get to the trials that day but I asked Michael to take a sit on her to see how she would cope with any kick-back," Lakey said.

"She showed she can handle coming from behind if something wants to take her on in front tomorrow.

"She's foolproof and has heaps of pace and I expect she'll probably lead."

Ro's Purring is a half-sister to the Robert Smerdon-trained Global Warming, the winner of seven races including the Listed Canterbury Classic (1100m) in 2008.
