Leading Queensland Derby contender Bid Spotter could be joined in Saturday's classic by stablemate Awesome Planet.

Trainer Graeme Rogerson said Awesome Planet had pulled up well from her unlucky fifth in the Queensland Oaks and he would make a decision in the next couple of days on whether to back her up in the Derby.

Bid Spotter, the winner of his past three starts in Sydney, travelled north overnight.

"He arrived up here this morning and looks really good," Rogerson said.

"It hasn't stopped raining but the track won't worry him.

"There isn't a horse going any better.

"I'm also happy with how Awesome Planet has come through the Oaks.

"It was an enormous run to come fifth from where she was. She was about a hundred yards off them.

"It's 50-50 at the moment whether she runs in the Derby."

Awesome Planet was caught very deep from her wide alley and was taken out even further on the first turn when another horse on her inside came out.

Jim Cassidy then elected to take her back to try to get cover and she ended up on the fence with nowhere to go until the final 200 metres.

Oaks runner-up Nothin' Leica Cat is a definite Derby runner with trainer Anthony Cummings extremely happy with how she handled the wet track.

The Oaks was won by Purple whose five victories have all come on slow or heavy tracks.

But Cummings said Nothin' Leica Cat's barrier 17 was more of a factor in her second.

"The winner got conditions to suit but Nothin' Leica Cat went great," he said.

"It was more the barrier and what she had to do from there that cost her rather than the track.

"She is nice and bright today so at this stage she will run in the Derby."

Corey Brown will replace the suspended Damien Oliver on Nothin' Leica Cat while Cassidy will be on Bid Spotter with a rider for Awesome Planet to be decided.

Bid Spotter's form resurgence has come after the hard decision to geld him over the summer.

An $850,000 yearling, Bid Spotter is by Redoute's Choice out of Isolda who Rogerson trained to win the 1995 Champagne Stakes in which she beat Octagonal.

The final fields for the three Group One races at Eagle Farm - the Derby, the Stradbroke and the TJ Smith - will be decided on Wednesday.

Rogerson has taken two-year-old More Than Cash out of the TJ Smith (1600m) after his 11th in Saturday's Sires' Produce Stakes won by Shoot Out.
