The Golden Slipper hopes of top jockey Nash Rawiller could rest on the performances of the Gai Waterhouse-trained juveniles racing at Rosehill on Saturday.

Rawiller doesn't have a Slipper ride at this stage but will be aboard More Strawberries and Brightexpectations in the Magic Night Stakes and Pago Pago Stakes respectively, both over 1200 metres.

He has high hopes both can force their way into the $3.5 million race seven days later.

The rider is keen to partner More Strawberries in the Magic Night after the filly was a luckless debut second to Obsequious at Warwick Farm.

The John Singleton-owned filly missed the start that day and was forced to chase, but Rawiller predicted big things from her on Saturday.

"She is potentially a really nice filly," Rawiller said.

"She has sort of given us the impression that she's going to be better down the track over a mile (1600m) but Gai has been able to keep some freshness in her legs and the timing about her for the Slipper is pretty good if she can win on Saturday."

The form out of More Strawberries' debut race looks very good after Obsequious came out last Saturday and split Golden Slipper favourite Military Rose and Solar Charged in the Reisling Stakes.

"She's still nice and fresh and I thought she was terribly unlucky in her first start behind the filly that ran well on Saturday (Obsequious)," Rawiller said.

"She missed the start and a filly like her can quite often get away with that in a midweek race but she ran into a smart one that day. I still thought her run was tremendous and I liked the way she kept finding the line."

More Strawberries has drawn barrier 10 for the Magic Night with Widden Stakes winner Georgette Silk drawing the outside gate in the field of 12.

In the other two-year-old event on the card, Rawiller will partner Skyline Stakes runner-up Brightexpectations from barrier four.

Rawiller's brother Brad rode Brightexpectations last start when he finished a short head second to Hinchinbrook.

"I have always had a good opinion of him," Rawiller said.

"He showed his true colours last time and I think he would have taken improvement from that."
