Trainer Greg Eurell believes Pinker Pinker has taken a step up this preparation but will have to take another if she is to run in the $2.5 million Caulfield Cup.
The Reset mare won her second Group Two race against her own sex in the Let's Elope Stakes (1400m) at Flemington last Saturday and Eurell has no hesitation in backing her up in the Group Two WH Stocks Stakes (1600m) at Moonee Valley on Saturday.
"Her first time at Moonee Valley will be an interesting exercise but she's very adaptable," Eurell said.
"Wherever she's gone she's always raced very genuinely and I wouldn't expect anything different on Saturday.
"She's come through her run really well and I have no reservations about running her again after a week.
"The lead-up to that race was primarily for this race as far as work goes."
Pinker Pinker is a winner from 1100m to 1600m and last autumn was fourth to Mirjulisa Lass in the Vinery Stud Stakes (2000m) at Rosehill and third to Absolutely in the AJC Australian Oaks (2400m) at Randwick.
Dwayne Dunn goes back on to Pinker Pinker after her gutsy win over Mid Summer Music in the Let's Elope, replacing Glen Boss who was engaged for last week's race before Dunn got off a careless riding suspension on appeal.
Eurell is not concerned with the four-year-old drawing out in barrier 11 in the 14-horse field.
"I think she'll get her opportunity to get into a spot, she makes her own luck. I think wherever Dwayne wants to put her she'll probably get there," he said.
Connections have kept their options open with Pinker Pinker by paying up for her as a first acceptor in both the Caulfield Cup and the Cox Plate.
"This race will determine which direction we take with her. She's been competitive over all the distances she's been over," Eurell said.
"It just depends on what she's up against and Saturday highlighted she's taken the next step up, but she's going to have to do it again against the boys if she's going to go in the Caulfield Cup direction."
King's Rose, a first-up Group Two Memsie Stakes winner at her first outing for leading trainer Peter Moody, is the firm favourite for the Stocks having been backed from $2.90 to $2.70 with TAB Sportsbet.
Pinker Pinker has also come in for good support, firming from $4.60 to $4.20 ahead of Lady Lynette at $7.50 and Absolutely at $8.50.
The Mark Webb-trained Avienus, who won last year's Stocks at $12 but hasn't been placed since, has come in from $26 to $18.
