Phenomenal Lass is doing a great job in her temporary role as stable star for trainer Paul Murray.

The filly is in action at Warwick Farm on Tuesday where she will attempt her third successive win.

Murray's stable suffered a blow last week with the news Predatory Pricer would be sidelined longer than hoped with ligament damage.

Plans to run the beaten Caulfield Cup favourite in the autumn were shelved with Murray now eyeing a return in the Brisbane winter carnival.

While Predatory Pricer takes it easy at home, Phenomenal Lass has been giving Murray plenty to be pleased about.

She is an acceptor for the St Johns Park Handicap (1100m) where she has the topweight of 58kg but has some respite with two kilogram claiming apprentice Nathan Berry.

"She's gone up in weight a little bit on Tuesday but that's the price you pay for winning," Murray said.

"She's going well enough to overcome the weight, she really is racing well at the moment."

The filly was given a freshen-up after an unsuccessful two-race Victorian campaign in September.

She overcame a wide barrier, 11, at Canterbury on October 21, leading all the way in a comfortable victory over No Evidence Needed in a 1250 metre race.

Just 10 days later, she jumped straight to the lead at Rosehill and there she stayed, going on to defeat Kimberley Kid by a short neck in a gutsy performance over 1200 metres.

"We'll give her this run and then there's a Randwick (Kensington) meeting a couple of weeks after that," Murray said.

"Then we'll give her a couple of weeks off and just see how she measures up in the new year before we make any plans from there."

Jonathan Lumsden from the Randwick Equine Centre examined Predatory Pricer during the week and told Murray the entire needed more time off.

Scans taken shortly after the Caulfield Cup revealed a stretched suspensory ligament in his off-side foreleg.

The Stradbroke Handicap at Eagle Farm has emerged as a likely target.

"That's probably where we'll end up and then hopefully Melbourne again," Murray said.

Predatory Pricer is a half-brother to champion sprinter Takeover Target.

Prior to his unplaced Caulfield Cup run, Predatory Pricer was a half-head second to Efficient in the Group One Turnbull Stakes (2000m).

A run earlier he was a half-length third to Heart Of Dreams in the Group One Underwood Stakes.

He began his Melbourne campaign in grand style by defeating Whobegotyou in the Group Two JJ Liston Stakes (1400m) at Caulfield in August.
