Her barnstorming finish in the Silver Shadow Stakes has stamped Parables as the filly to beat in the remainder of the Princess Series.

Parables jumped out of the ground in the final 200m to reel in an outstanding field in Saturday's 1200m Group Three feature at Warwick Farm.

While Parables earned plenty of plaudits, the Silver Shadow performance of Chance Bye to finish third has trainer Mick Tubman eyeing next week's Group One Golden Rose.

"If she pulls up all right she'll run in the Golden Rose and she'll win it," Tubman said.

Peter Snowden had actually given up hope when Parables was spotting her rivals such a big start and copped some interference with 250m to run.

Parables was back near last turning for home but Tim Clark gambled on going to the inside and the impressive filly surged to the line to defeat Solar Charged by a length running away.

Chance Bye was third, half a length away.

Snowden said Parables would continue through the remainder of the Princess Series to run in the Furious Stakes (1400m), Tea Rose Stakes (1500m) and then the Group One Flight Stakes (1600m) this spring.

"Class will take them a long way and that's just pure class today," Snowden said.

"It's very exciting and hopefully she'll go on from this, but in my mind she will, and with that turn of foot it will take her a long way.

"I'm pleased I've got her and no-one else has."

The Darley trainer, who also had Obsequious who was eighth in the race, thought Parables was vulnerable against a high-class field first-up and said the win was a bonus heading towards the spring.

"I don't know (just how good she is) but if you ask me in another two months I might be able to tell you," Snowden said.

"She's done everything I've asked of her and today was a bonus because I thought it was going to be too short for her.

"To her credit she just produced another gear.

"She showed a glimpse of that last preparation at Randwick (in the Keith Mackay Quality), her run there was as good as any run you'd ever see.

"She broke 11 seconds in the last furlong (200m) and horses don't do that unless they've got exceptional ability."

Brilliant filly Solar Charged set a scorching pace from the outset with noted speedsters Obsequious and Chance Bye unable to go with her.

"That's the way to ride her," trainer John O'Shea said.

"She was just beaten by a better horse."

Tubman, meanwhile, said Chance Bye would back up next week provided she pulls up OK.

"I won't accept with her unless she's 100 per cent. I'm just rapt that's she's back and she's back on track."
