If races were awarded for eagerness then Orbit Express would just about be unbeaten.

Trainer Steve McKinnon was chuffed to see the five-year-old win again at Caulfield on Saturday and will back him up on his home track at Flemington over his favourite distance this weekend.

"If I had a stable full of horses like him then the job would be easy," McKinnon said.

"He is no star but he is the most willing horse I have ever had.

"If you are late of a morning he stands at the door wanting to know where you have been."

Orbit Express has won eight of 26 starts but his desire to win is unquestionable.

On Saturday he looked beaten when the leaders skipped away on him in the straight but he surged the last 200 metres to reel them in and win in a photo finish.

"He can reel off quite a good sectionals but the main thing is he just attacks the line," McKinnon said.

Orbit Express (99) is the highest rated of the 20 nominations for Saturday's Zouki Handicap (1400m) which McKinnon is planning as the first of three 1400-metre Flemington targets for the gelding in the next month.

The medium term goal is the Listed Chester Manifold Stakes (1400m) at Flemington on January 17 with the Williamstown Handicap (1400m) his lead up on January 1.

"He races well at Flemington and 1400 metres is his go," McKinnon said.

Orbit Express has raced seven times at the distance for four wins and three minor placings, including a win and a third at his only two Flemington runs.

Greg Childs has ridden Orbit Express to all of his five wins this year and almost certainly will take the ride again on Saturday.

Other high rated entries for Saturday's race are Count To Zero (97), Korcula (97), and Club Liquid (95), who is resuming from a let up after winning the Darwin Cup and Murray Bridge Cup at two of his three starts.

Montechoro (93), Snort (92), Illustration (91), Jennings (91), Macau Causeway (91), and Rok Posta (91) are also rated above 90.
