Clarry Conners wants nothing but the best for Decision Time and he has enticed Stathi Katsidis to Sydney to ride the talented galloper in the San Domenico Stakes.

A notoriously hard marker of jockeys, Conners is full of admiration for Katsidis who has matured into one of the country's leading riders after a series of well-publicised personal problems and breaches with officialdom.

Katsidis will ride Golden Slipper runner-up Decision Time on Saturday and any other time he is available.

"Stathi is a fantastic rider and I'm hoping he can ride Decision Time in the Up And Coming Stakes and maybe the Golden Rose depending on his commitments to Shoot Out," Conners said.

"I would like Stathi to come to Sydney full-time but I don't have a big enough stable to support him.

"He had a stint with me about ten years ago when he was an apprentice but he got homesick after four or five weeks and went back to Queensland.

"I thought he was a very good rider then and now he's a great rider."

Katsidis shared the 2009-2010 Brisbane premiership with Larry Cassidy after opting to forego the final meeting on Saturday to maintain his association with dual Group One winner Shoot Out at Caulfield.

Shoot Out did the job, outclassing a field of handy sprinters to win the Bletchingly Stakes (1200m), his first steps towards the major spring features including the Cox Plate.

As well as claiming the Brisbane title, Katsidis took out the national premiership with 171-1/2 wins, a testament to his work ethic.

Craig Williams rode Decision Time in the Golden Slipper and also steered him to a barrier trial win at Warwick Farm.

But Williams's decision to stay in Melbourne this weekend prompted Conners to chase Katsidis while Blake Shinn will be aboard stablemate Georgette Silk in the San Domenico.

"Both horses have done really well and I'm happy with them but I'm hoping the track won't be too heavy," Conners said.

Decision Time's experience on slow ground consists of the Golden Slipper and last week's barrier trial.

Georgette Silk won the Widden Stakes in slow going and ran third in the conditions in the Kindergarten Stakes before finishing out of the placings in the Slipper.

There were 12 entries for the San Domenico (1000m) including Queenslanders Spirit Of Boom and Buffering who filled the placings behind Pressday in the Group Two Champagne at Doomben before the winner went on to claim the Sires' Produce and Group One TJ Smith Classic.
