Triple Group One winner Danleigh will follow a tried and true path towards the autumn as he tries to enhance his already impressive record.

The seven-year-old lines up in a barrier trial on his home track of Rosehill on Tuesday ahead of his return in the Group Two Expressway Stakes on February 5.

Danleigh ran fifth of the five runners in the 2010 Expressway won by his stablemate Rangirangdoo when only 1-1/2 lengths covered the field.

He then turned the tables in the Group Two Apollo Stakes (1400m) and ran third in the Group One Chipping Norton Stakes (1600m).

A month later he beat a quality field to win the Group One George Ryder Stakes, his aim again this autumn.

"He will do what he did last autumn," Waller said.

"He has been a wonderful horse to the stable and keeps stepping up."

Danleigh had five starts in the spring for two placings including third in Waller's historic Warwick Stakes trifecta behind Metal Bender and Triple Honour.

Waller admitted he had trouble getting him fit for that campaign and was pleased with his condition this time around.

"He is fitter this time than he was in the spring," Waller said.

"He had a good spell, around six weeks in the paddock, and he looks great."

Among Waller's others to trial at Rosehill will be Strike One who is headed towards the Australia Day Cup.

"He is likely to be my only runner in the Australia Day Cup," Waller said.

The trainer will have several two-year-olds at the trials and is also looking forward to getting Ingham Magic back to Sydney.

The filly missed a start in Saturday's Magic Millions Classic as the second emergency in which her stablemate Fast And Sexy finished a creditable sixth behind Karuta Queen.

"She will come back to Sydney and have her next start in the Widden Stakes," Waller said.

While Danleigh will be an early starter in the autumn, Metal Bender's return is pencilled in as the Apollo Stakes but Rangirangdoo won't beseen until a little later.

"We have given him a bit more time," Waller said.

"He probably won't be seen until the latter part of the Randwick carnival."

The winner of last year's Doncaster Mile, Rangirangdoo missed the spring due to niggling feet and joint issues while Metal Bender was spelled after suffering a bleeding attack in the Mackinnon Stakes at the end of October.
