Trainer Bede Murray will learn on Monday if Scott Seamer will be fit to ride New Zealand Derby winner Coniston Bluebird in the Group One Rosehill Guineas.

Seamer makes his return to trackwork after fracturing a heel in a mishap after the Derby-winning ride on Coniston Bluebird at Ellerslie on March 1.

The jockey raised both arms in triumph for the photographers and Coniston Bluebird jerked forward and threw him off.

Coniston Bluebird is being aimed at the Group One AJC Australian Derby (2400m) on April 11 and Murray is expecting a big run in Saturday's Guineas (2000m) and hopes Seamer will be along for the ride.

"I'm hoping he gets through trackwork okay, he did such a great job on the horse for us in New Zealand," Murray said.

"At this stage everything sounds promising, he's been given the all clear to get back to riding work and hopefully we'll get some good news tomorrow."

The Queensland-based rider was aboard Coniston Bluebird in both his New Zealand starts which included a third in the Championship Stakes (2100m) at Ellerslie.

Seamer took over from Coniston Bluebird's regular jockey Glyn Schofield who stayed in Australia to ride Predatory Pricer who was unplaced in the Hobartville Stakes at Rosehill.

Predatory Pricer is trained by Murray's son Paul and will have his next start in the Group Two Tulloch Stakes (2000m) at Rosehill on April 4.

The half brother to international sprint king Takeover Target ran a close third Heart Of Dreams in the Group Two Phar Lap Stakes at Rosehill on Saturday.

Paul Murray was pleased with the performance from Predatory Pricer who came into the race after a disappointing eighth to Metal Bender in the Randwick Guineas a week earlier.

"I thought the run was really good, he got three bumps in the straight and it cost him a stride on the line but I don't think he could have won," Murray said.

"Blinkers seem to sharpen him up and he was his old self again and had that old sprint back and I'm confident he'll go well in the Tulloch."

Predatory Pricer is also scheduled to run in the AJC Australian Derby (2400m) on April 11.

Bede Murray won the 2001 AJC Derby with Universal Prince who, like Coniston Bluebird, is a son of the late Scenic, sire of Melbourne Cup winner Viewed.
