A wet track at Canterbury on Wednesday doesn't faze Warwick Farm trainer Marc Conners with three-year-old Classic Rush.

The filly will line up in the TJ's Champagne Bar Handicap (1200m) on the back of a last-start win at the track, and will be out to extend her unbeaten record on tracks rated slow or worse.

The Charge Forward filly has had one start on a heavy track and one on a slow track and has won on both occasions.

"She loves the wet," Conners said.

"I think she goes the same speed in it and hopefully the wet slows some of the others down.

"She's got a bit of weight to carry, there's no doubt about that, but she's very consistent."

Classic Rush, the winner of five of her 12 starts, is topweight with 60kg in the Benchmark 70 race for fillies and mares.

That will be offset 3kg with the claim for apprentice Jessie Whipp who is unbeaten from two rides on the filly.

Classic Rush jumped from barrier one at Canterbury in a 3YO Restricted race over 1100m on April 28 and led all the way to defeat My Good Fortune by 1-1/4 lengths.

The filly carried 55.5kg that day with Whipp's claim.

"She's the smallest horse in our stable but there's just no fuss about her," Conners said.

"She just goes out and does her work, nothing special but gets the job done.

"There's no doubt this race is a lot harder with the extra 1.5 kilos, but we brought her back in a bit later this preparation for this reason to target races over winter because she does handle the wet.

"I'm sure she'll run well."

A decision on whether two-year-old Eclaircissement also lines up at Canterbury in theraces.com.au Handicap (1100m) will be made on race morning, Conners said.

The Canterbury track had received 28mm of rain for the week including 22mm between Monday night and Tuesday morning with the track rated a heavy (8) on Tuesday afternoon.

The meeting will also feature last-start winner Geffen in the STC Members Handicap (1900m).

Geffen won by four lengths in a 1900m no metropolitan wins race at the same track on May 5 and is likely to be having his final start of the campaign on Wednesday.

After his last start trainer Gai Waterhouse predicted a race like the Summer Cup (2400m) could be a target next preparation.

"He's done a great job this preparation and has kept stepping up to the mark," Waterhouse's racing manager Mark Webbey said.

"We expect him to run well again."
