Gai Waterhouse won't hear of More Joyous being beaten in the Doncaster - wet or dry - but the chances of the favourite starting on a heavy track are slim.

Rain hit Sydney on Tuesday, downgrading the Randwick track to a heavy (8) and the weather is not expected to clear until Friday.

More Joyous' owner John Singleton is on record saying he wouldn't run her on a heavy track but Waterhouse was full of confidence after trackwork on Tuesday.

"They could have a flood and she'd win the race," Waterhouse said, shortly after More Joyous worked stylishly in a solo gallop on the course proper at Randwick.

More Joyous finished 11th on a heavy track in last year's Doncaster but her race jockey Nash Rawiller believes the mare wasn't at the top of her game that day and isn't convinced she doesn't handle wet ground.

More Joyous came up with barrier 12 in a full field of 20 plus two emergencies for the Doncaster with TAB Sportsbet's other equal $6 favourite Secret Admirer to start from the outside barrier.

Secret Admirer, a dual Group One winner over the Randwick mile, clocked 35.5 seconds for the final 600m of a solo gallop on Tuesday with a final 200m in 11 seconds which delighted trainer Grahame Begg.

Begg and jockey Brenton Avdulla are not at all concerned by the draw as Secret Admirer won last year's Epsom from barrier 16 of 17 and the 2010 Flight Stakes from barrier 11 of 11.

"I wanted her to draw from the middle to the outside. At least out there she is out of trouble," Begg said.

Begg believes Secret Admirer is going every bit as good as before the Epsom last year.

"I think the thing with her is that she's got a good record at the Randwick mile and she looks like she'll get the favourable conditions on Saturday," he said.

"We think with the 54 kilos she's in very well for a four-year-old mare, an Epsom Handicap winner."

The weather will also have an impact on whether Victorian galloper Rekindled Interest starts.

Trainer Jim Conlan said if it was a genuine heavy track then Rekindled Interest would be saved for the Queen Elizabeth Stakes the following week.

Rekindled Interest chased down stablemate Larry's Never Late in a 1200m hitout at Randwick on Tuesday with a last 200m in the same time as Secret Admirer.

He will jump from barrier two on Saturday.

"It was excellent work," Conlon said.

"It (the Doncaster) has been his major autumn aim and he's just perfect."

Premier trainer Chris Waller will have four Doncaster runners after paying up for 2010 winner Rangirangdoo who has barrier 17.

Shoot Out (barrier 10), Albert The Fat (seven) and Danleigh (eight) are Waller's other representatives as the trainer chases his third Doncaster win.
