Clarry Conners has again had plenty of success with his young horses this season and is confident it hasn't finished yet ahead of Saturday's Champagne Stakes.

The trainer said he'd be disappointed if lightly-raced filly Fashion doesn't turn in a huge performance in the Group One 1600m event at Randwick.

Conners went within half a length of claiming a fifth Golden Slipper earlier this month when Decision Time ran second to brilliant filly Crystal Lily in the $3.5 million showpiece.

That came after Georgette Silk had won the Widden Stakes in February and Decision Time had taken out the Black Opal in Canberra last month.

Asked if he expected Fashion to make her presence felt on Saturday, Conners replied: "I expect her to nearly win.

"I think she'll run a big race, and I'll be disappointed if she doesn't.

"This is the race I picked out and trained her for, we got a bit of luck with the barrier (two) and (jockey) Stathi (Katsidis) is very happy with her."

Fashion is only a small filly but has an excellent turn of foot which she has shown in her past two starts, including her 1-1/4 length second to Skilled in the Listed Baillieu Handicap (1400m) at Rosehill on April 3.

"I'm very happy with her and the form around her is terrific," Conners said.

"She finished between Skilled and Kudakulari last start.

"She's only a little thing - there's not much of her - but she came through the Baillieu really nicely and I gave her a little trial at Canterbury last week."

Fashion is by Encosta De Lago out of 2001 Blue Diamond winner True Jewels.

She has had just three starts, beginning with a sixth to Obsequious and More Strawberries on debut at Warwick Farm where she raced greenly.

The filly then missed the start in a 1300m event on the Kensington track but flashed home from the tail of the field for third to the promising Tom's Choice.

In the Baillieu last start, Fashion raced in the second half of the field and struck some interference at the 200m mark when Kudakulari was racing greenly on her inside.

But the filly finished strongly late to grab second.

Kudakulari was an impressive winner of the Listed Fernhill Handicap (1600m) at Randwick last weekend while Skilled was beaten in a photo in the Group One Sires' Produce Stakes (1400m) a week after the Baillieu.

"Bart's horse (Kudakulari) is going to be the horse to beat, we know what Bart's horses can do," Conners said.
