NATURALISM Stakes winner Gris Caro is out of the Caulfield Cup. Trainer Jake Stephens relayed the disappointing news to owners earlier today that the former French horse is lame.
Stephens said Gris Caro is lame in the off fore, which ruled out a start in the $3 million Cup.
"I suspect there is the bruise coming in the heel and we have no other option but to scratch," Stephens said.
Stephens said he hopes that Gris Caro can recover to run in the $1 million LKS Mackinnon Stakes at Flemington on the first day of the VRC spring carnival.
