Special steps will be taken with well-bred two-year-old The Fairy's Kiss to ensure her race debut at Caulfield goes as smoothly as possible.

The daughter of Elusive Quality has provided trainer Mick Price with plenty of headaches but he has great belief in her and is hopeful she will be a top-line three-year-old filly in the spring.

"She is beautifully bred and pretty fast but is a cantankerous little thing and not the easiest horse to train," Price said.

"She is just a bundle of nervous energy."

He said the stable pony, Jag, had been the key to calming her down and that he would accompany her to the track for her first race start in Saturday's Swettenham Stud Hcp (1000m).

"We would have a lot of trouble with her if she didn't have the stable pony," Price said.

"I am just hoping race day doesn't get the better of her.

"She is going to the races with Jag and will go to the barriers with the clerk of the course.

"She can be a bit cantankerous to load in the barriers but she is good once she gets in there.

The Fairy's Kiss is the second foal from well-performed four-time Group winner Ballet Society whose first foal died.

Price hasn't pushed The Fairy's Kiss and is impressed with the speed she has shown him.

"Week by week she keeps improving," Price said.

"She has trialled pretty well and she's fast enough that she could lead tomorrow if we wanted.

"We've got an idea that she is going to be a really good spring three-year-old filly."

Dale Smith will ride The Fairy's Kiss who has drawn barrier two in the five-horse field and is $5.50 with TAB Sportsbet.

Impressive Sandown debut winner City Of Song is the only runner with race experience and dominates the market at $1.70.

The Leon Corstens-trained Mosheen was a $250,000 Fastnet Rock yearling and is $3.20 second favourite after being scratched from Friday night's Moonee Valley meeting.

Price said City Of Song was a big threat after she made up so much ground to win on March 2.

"Obviously she (City Of Song) will be sitting back off the speed and will have the last crack at them but I think (The Fairy's Kiss) will fight it out," Price said.
