Country jockey Mathew Cahill is in the box seat for more city success on Saturday.

Cahill, who plies his trade mainly on the NSW bush circuit, enjoyed one of his finest moments in the saddle with a winning double at Rosehill on Saturday.

The veteran rider played his part in Bossdon City's plunge win and he also partnered Queensland talent Tierqualo to a first-up victory.

Confirmation Bossdon City will back up in the $250,000 Inglis Classic adds firepower to a book which already includes the mount on Canberra three-year-old Unanimously.

Cahill has ridden Unanimously in four city starts this campaign for two wins at Randwick.

Based at Cowra in central west NSW, Cahill is one of racing's best kept secrets according to Unanimously's trainer Matthew Dale.

"I was thinking about using an apprentice's claim on Unanimously but decided against it because Mathew knows the horse so well.

"Besides, even though he doesn't get many opportunities, he is a genuine city-class jockey."

Unanimously will head to the spelling paddock irrespective of Saturday's result.

"The plan was always to miss the spring carnival and let him race through over the summer months because the class would be a bit easier," Dale said.

"He hasn't let us down, although I must say he's run into some pretty decent horses like Sincero and Falino."

His most recent Randwick win denied Intencion a start in the Magic Millions Guineas for which he ended up the second emergency.

Melbourne trainer Tony Vasil has entered Intencion at Rosehill for a rematch.

Dale has also nominated Happy Finish for Rosehill but is leaving options open for the veteran sprinter.

"I've got him entered for Canberra on Friday but at this stage I'm leaning towards a Rosehill start," he said.

Happy Finish has been off the scene because of pelvis injury since his gallant second to News Alert in the Wagga Wagga Town Plate in May.

"He fractured his pelvis after the Town Plate," Dale said.

"The injury sounds worse than it is. The fracture mends with paddock rest."

Since creating city headlines on Saturday, Cahill has continued his run on country tracks, riding three winners at Sunday's Cowra Cup meeting before taking the Moruya Town Plate on Monday with Grager.
