Latest trackwork (Oct 12) for the international raiders from the Werribee quarantine track (from Racing Victoria):

LUCKY NINE: A light morning for this sprinter after upping the ante yesterday. Trotted a lap this morning with the plan to keep the horse ticking over as well as he has been. (First run: Sportingbet Manikato Stakes, 1200m, 25 October)

DANDINO: Craig Williams hopped on board, walking a lap with a short canter down the straight. Also cantered a from the mile marker. Craig said “I’m really happy with the horse. The horse is extremely happy and well.” Dandino will do another piece of fast work tomorrow. Whether Craig rides him in that work will be confirmed later today. (First run: BMW Caulfield Cup, 2400m, 19 October)

SIMENON: Race day today. Reiterating track rider Mullins’ comments “that the horse is at 100-per cent of where they would like him to be for Saturday.” He also said that the horse is well this morning after a very light canter around Werribee. (Today: Race 8 Group 2 Herbert Power Stakes, 2400m)

SIDE GLANCE: Continues to build up it’s work with a fast work session with Ruscello. A slow canter kicked things off over about 1000-metres gradually increasing. Was led by Ruscello by about a length. Side Glance leveled up at the 600 and led around the turn. Kept going consistently to be beaten a head on the line in what would probably be describe as three-quarter pace. (First run: Sportingbet Cox Plate, 2040m, 26 October)

MULL OF KILLOUGH: Trainer Jane Chapple-Hyam oversaw work this morning and was pleased enough with what she saw after arriving in Melbourne overnight Thursday. She said he continues to look well and she was happy eough with his work over 1400-metres at about three-quarter pace. They are looking forward to having a first look at Moonee Valley on Thursday. (First run: Sportingbet Cox Plate, 2040m, 26 October)

RUSCELLO: Fast work session this morning over 1000-metres with Side Glance. Led Side Glance with they eased into it from the 1000-marker by about a length. Was headed around the turn and worked home nicely to get home by a head. Work has been consistently building and OTI’s Terry Henderson said “he looked positive, very positive. We just want to see where he is though with this first run.”   (First run: 0-84 Handicap, 2000m, 16 October)

TREVIERES: Race day for this French international. Looked as well as he has for the past fortnight and the team are hopeful of a good showing today. Reiterating owner Colleen Bamford’s comments: Trevieres’ racing pattern is to settle midfield and has a good turn of foot. (Today: Race 9 Group 1 Toorak Handicap, 1600m, 12 October)

FORGOTTEN VOICE: Seven days to hopefully starting in the Caulfield Cup for this horse. Walked and trotted a lap this morning on a couple of occasions and didn’t seem to throw the head around as much when asked to go a little quicker in the straight once.  (Hopeful first run: BMW Caulfield Cup, 2400m, 19 October)
