All Too Hard ($5) is rated the biggest danger on the strength of his bold 2nd in the Cox Plate last year. The Gai Waterhouse-trained Glencadam Gold ($6) is bound to attract interest after an impressive Spring.

Racing Victoria reports that the Hyland Race Colours Autumn Stakes looms as the pivotal race in Fiveandahalfstar's Melbourne Festival of Racing campaign. The Victoria Derby winner is nominated for the Australian Guineas and Darley Australian Cup and trainer Anthony Cummings says where he heads hinges on the performance in the $220,000 Grp 2 over 1400 metres at Caulfield on February 9. "After that we'll have a choice to make," Cummings said. "Whether we go to the Guineas or whether we go to the 1800-metre race at Caulfield and then onto the Australian Cup and back to Sydney for the Derby." The $220,000 Autumn Classic (1800m) for three-year-olds is run at Caulfield on 23 February, seven days before the $500,000 Group 1 Guineas. The $1 million Darley Australian Cup, run at weight-for-age over 2000m, will be run at Flemington on 9 March.
