As for the long-term prognosis - no-one really knows.

Excited trainer John McNair is prepared to risk everything he has to travel and campaign with his star sprinter Hay List. He says: 'You probably only get a horse like this once in a lifetime. Within 12 months, I'll probably be only training him...When you do get a horse as good as him, then you want to make the most of it and spend the time with him to give him every possible chance of reaching his potential.' Hay List will make his Victorian debut in the McEwan Stakes in September. An overseas trip is likely, too.
