PATINACK'S Queensland operation will not have runners until the second week of January because of a broken water-walker and a swimming pool in need of maintenance at its Canungra base, reports The Age.

It says: Racing Queensland stewards and a veterinary officer conducted an inspection of the training facilities on Monday after the racing and breeding operation scratched all four of its runners from the Doomben meeting on Saturday.

Rumours that horses were not being fed were quickly laid to rest as staff explained it had been a directive from Patinack boss Nathan Tinkler that the horses be withdrawn.

''Nathan Tinkler has instructed staff that none of the horses are to run until everything is fully operational,'' steward Daniel Aurisch said.
