THE Bart Cummings stable yesterday confirmed that Cox Plate winner So You Think, who resumes today in the Memsie Stakes at Caulfield, underwent an operation earlier in the year for the larynx condition more commonly known as ''roaring'', reports The Age.
It says: So You Think did not race in the autumn, with the stable stating that he did not ''come up'' in the early stages of training. The stable claimed yesterday the four-year-old had recovered fully from the throat condition, which results in less air being taken into the lungs.
Yesterday's Racing Victoria Limited press release read: ''The [Bart Cummings] stable has confirmed that it established following the horse's last campaign that So You Think did not fully abduct on the left-hand side of its larynx and that a procedure was performed some six months ago to correct the anomaly.
''The stable have expressed their satisfaction with So You Think's preparation in the lead-up to [the] Memsie Stakes.''
