An eye-catching return by Zavite in the Tatt's Cup has prompted trainer Anthony Cummings to consider a Group One assault across the Tasman.

But first, he has some unfinished business across Bass Strait.

The seven-year-old, who will have his second start from a let-up in the Listed Frank Underwood Cup (2000m) at Rosehill on Saturday, won last year's Launceston Cup but was narrowly beaten in the Hobart Cup when three-quarters of a length second to Gotta Keep Cool.

Cummings plans to give the Adelaide Cup winner another shot at the Hobart feature before he weighs up the merits of a start in the Group One Auckland Cup (3200m) at Ellerslie on March 10.

"He'll go to the Australia Day Cup ten days after this race on Saturday and then go to Hobart again," Cummings said.

"He's still in the Auckland Cup so there is a chance he may go to Auckland but I haven't decided yet."

Zavite had a mixed spring finishing fourth in the Caulfield Cup but beating only four rivals home in the Melbourne Cup.

Usually requiring racing to hit his straps, Zavite surprised even his trainer when he resumed with a closing fourth to Rainbow Styling in the Tatt's Cup (2000m) and Cummings anticipates another competitive showing on Saturday.

"He was a bit more forward than even I thought at that stage but he looks fine and he's gone on since," Cummings said.

"He wasn't far away the other day and the race wasn't really run to suit him.

"If he draws a decent gate he can comfortably sit a bit closer, whereas the other day he either had to get into a speed battle early or go back a bit and the jockey took what turned out to be the better option I think (to go back)."

Zavite was eighth to Tommifrancs in last year's Tatt's Cup and sixth to the same galloper in the Underwood before winning the Australia Day Cup.

He is one of 11 entries for Saturday's feature along with Rainbow Styling, who will be aiming to emulate the feat of Tommifrancs 12 months ago.

Gai Waterhouse has nominated both Rabbuka and Summer Cup placegetter Rockwood while Peter Snowden will be represented by consistent gelding Spinney.

Kris Lees is set to have an interesting runner in the two-year-old race for juveniles with filly Elimbari scheduled to make her debut.

A daughter of Fastnet Rock out of Shalt Not, who was trained by Lees' late father Max, Elimbari is a half-sister to former brilliant juvenile Amelia's Dream.
