Group One winner Ilovethiscity will undergo a veterinary inspection on Friday afternoon to determine whether he is fit to take his place in Saturday's Warwick Stakes.

Last season's Randwick Guineas winner pulled a shoe in trackwork on Wednesday and trod on a nail.

Trainer Grahame Begg advised stewards on Thursday morning the four-year-old had "continued to please" in the 24 hours since the mishap.

"Mr Begg advised that Ilovethiscity had worked again this morning on the Kensington track," a statement issued by Racing NSW stewards said.

"As a precaution, Racing NSW official veterinarian, Dr Craig Suann, will examine Ilovethiscity tomorrow afternoon to determine his fitness to compete in Saturday's Warwick Stakes."

Ilovethiscity is the $4.20 favourite for the Group Two 1400m weight-for-age event at Warwick Farm.

Begg has stated he will take no chances with Ilovethiscity and has mapped out a back-up plan should the entire not be 100 per cent to kick off his campaign on Saturday.
