Valdemoro's graduation from multiple placegetter to winner of her past two starts has her on track for a rematch with Faint Perfume in the AJC Australian Oaks.

The Tony Vasil-trained Valdemoro ran second to Bart Cummings' filly in the VRC Oaks in November and went for a spell still a maiden.

Her two starts this autumn have produced two wins, the first in a 1410m maiden at Sale and a solid performance over 1600 metres at Moonee Valley on Friday night.

She is the $7 second favourite with TAB Sportsbet for the AJC Australian Oaks (2400m) on April 17 with Faint Perfume the $5 popular elect.

"She will come to Sydney for the Storm Queen and then go on to the Oaks," Vasil said.

"Faint Perfume is the one to beat again for sure."

Faint Perfume won the Kewney Stakes on March 6 at her first start since the spring and finished 5-3/4 lengths ninth after jumping from barrier 16 of 17 in Saturday's Coolmore Classic won by Alverta.

Cummings said Faint Perfume would appreciate the 2000 metres of the Storm Queen on Easter Saturday on her way to the Oaks two weeks later.

She is also the $8 second favourite for the AJC Australian Derby on April 10 with Shoot Out the $5 top pick.

Neither is a certain starter with Shoot Out also a leading Doncaster contender and Cummings yet to decide on a Derby start for Faint Perfume.

Cummings is happy with the way Faint Perfume has strengthened since the spring and Vasil says Valdemoro has also matured.

"She has grown a bit, the spring to the autumn is an active growth period for three-year-old fillies," Vasil said.

"I'm very happy with how she has come back."

While Vasil is happy with Valdemoro, the jury is out on two-year-old Psychologist after she finished eight lengths sixth in the Reisling Stakes won by Military Rose who was immediately elevated to Golden Slipper favouritism.

Psychologist was an eye-catching fifth in the Blue Diamond Stakes and was expected to be a force in Sydney.

She has been entered for Saturday's Magic Night Stakes, the final fillies' leadup to the $3.5 million Golden Slipper on Easter Saturday.

Blue Diamond winner Star Witness was also well in the market until Saturday's Todman Stakes in which he beat just one runner home to dash his hopes of a Slipper start.
