Title has played his part in Jay Ford's comeback from injury and the jockey believes another stakes win is there for the taking on Saturday.

Ford spent five months on the sidelines following shoulder surgery at the end of last year and since his return in late April, Title has provided the hoop with his first Saturday winner back and also his first stakes win.

That stakes success came in last Friday's Listed Takeover Target Stakes (1200m) at Gosford when Title raced to a 2-1/4-length victory.

"At the end of the day you need the cattle," Ford, who partnered Takeover Target throughout his illustrious career, said.

"It's been nice to get back on Title and win a couple of races.

"Obviously the Listed race last week was terrific for all involved and I guess it helps me re-establish myself in the riding ranks and getting a bit of a roll on."

Title caused an upset at Gosford as a $26 chance but has been installed favourite for Saturday's Listed Civic Stakes (1400m).

Ford is looking for his fifth win from just seven rides on Title and says there are plenty of positives to take into the winter feature.

"He's drawn well in barrier six, I think he gets in pretty well at the weights with 56-1/2 kilos and (trainer) Joe (Pride) is very happy with the horse this week," Ford said.

"We know he backs up well, he's won over 1400 metres and loves a wet track, so I think there's a lot of positives for him heading into this race.

"I'd like to think he's a strong chance again."

Rosehill was rated in the slow range on Thursday and Title has shown a distinct liking for wet tracks with two victories and a second from three attempts on heavy ground.

He has also recorded two wins, including the Takeover Target Stakes, from four starts in slow going.

Pride was pleased to see the rain falling during the week and is looking forward to taking the consistent gelding back to the races for the Civic Stakes.

"I just love it when myhorses surprise me and he genuinely surprised me at Gosford," Pride said.

"I thought he would be competitive, I wouldn't have had him in that race if I didn't, but to win and win with authority was great.

"I'm looking forward to Saturday."

The $100,000 race was reduced to 12 runners on Thursday with the scratching of Queenslander Drenalin who'll take his place in Saturday's $175,000 Listed Glasshouse Handicap (1400m) at the Sunshine Coast.
