Stripper has beaten boom filly Samantha Miss before and trainer David Payne believes she is capable of doing it again when they clash in the Group Two Tea Rose Stakes at Rosehill on Saturday.
Samantha Miss is the TAB Sportsbet $1.65 favourite for the 1500-metre race which is the third leg of the four race Princess Series.
The Kris Lees-trained filly has won the first two legs of the series - the Silver Shadow Stakes (1200m) and the Furious Stakes (1500m).
But Payne is making a habit of beating favourites and is coming off upset wins in the Chelmsford Stakes with Gallant Tess and the Theo Marks with Hurried Choice.
Stripper, who was today $4.60 second favourite, defeated Glowlamp by a short half head with Samantha Miss 1-1/2 lengths third in the Group Three Sweet Embrace (1200m) at Randwick in March.
A couple of starts later Samantha Miss beat Golden Slipper winner Sebring by a short head to win the Group One Champagne Stakes (1600m) in May.
"There's a lot of water under the bridge for Samantha Miss since we clashed with her and she really is outstanding," Payne said.
"But I think Stripper is right up there with her and is a definite chance of beating her on Saturday."
Payne gave Stripper a barrier trial at Randwick last Friday and she turned in a solid performance running a close second to Miss Pageantry over 1200 metres.
"She's well and has come through her the hitout very well and is ready to go for the weekend," Payne said.
Stripper made a brilliant return in August when she stormed home to get within a short head of Duporth in the $1 million Golden Rose (1400m).
"Considering that she was racing first-up after five months, it was an outstanding effort," Payne said.
Payne is hoping Stripper will continue his winning run with prominent owner John Cordina.
Cordina and his partner Sandy Ward also race Gallant Tess who defeated Doncaster Handicap winner Triple Honour by a length in the Chelmsford and got within a short neck of downing star Racing To Win in the Warwick Stakes last month.
"The reason I've been flying is because I've got good owners," Payne said.
"John's first class, we discuss things but we always do what's best for the horses.
"He's a very passionate owner and it's great to be winning some nice races for him, hopefully Stripper will continue the run on Saturday."
