In a change of plans, Cox Plate winner So You Think is set to line up in Saturday's Mackinnon Stakes with Craig Williams to replace the suspended Glen Boss on the colt.

Trainer Bart Cummings originally pencilled in the Emirates Stakes (1600m) a week later as the next start for the three-year-old.

But after celebrating the Cox Plate victory with owner Dato Tan Chin Nam and inspecting So You Think on Sunday, Cummings decided to pit him against stablemate Viewed in the 2000m weight-for-age feature at Flemington.

"Bart will monitor him during the week but the plan now is to run in the Mackinnon," Dato Tan's racing manager Duncan Ramage said.

"He talked it over with Dato who is happy to run him. As Dato said he's now the people's horse and they should get to see him.

"Craig Williams has been booked to ride and all going well he will run on Saturday."

The spring carnival moves to Flemington for the four-day Melbourne Cup carnival and the Cummings' juggernaut doesn't look like stopping any time soon.

The master trainer has won three Group One races over the past three Saturdays with Allez Wonder (Toorak Handicap), Viewed (Caulfield Cup) and So You Think.

Cummings won't have a runner in the Victoria Derby believing the 2500 metres is too taxing for early three-year-olds but will be well represented on Saturday.

His assured Melbourne Cup runners are be 2008 winner Viewed, AJC Australian Derby winner Roman Emperor and Allez Wonder with Think Money also in the mix if she can scrape into the field.

The AJC Australian Oaks runner-up ran third in Saturday's Moonee Valley Cup (2500m) and would need a high attrition rate to get into the field.

Roman Emperor and Think Money are also part of Dato Tan's team.

The Malaysian businessman is the most successful owner in the Cup's history with Think Big winning in 1974 and 1975, Saintly in 1996 and Viewed last year.

He didn't make an appearance at the Cox Plate presentation due to being confined to a wheelchair.

"It's temporary," Ramage said.

"He tore some ligaments when he failed to handle a firm track.

"He stayed and watched things from upstairs at Moonee Valley because we decided he's too valuable to risk."

Although Cummings believes the Derby is too stressful for the colts, apparently the fillies can handle the distance in the Oaks and Faint Perfume will tune up for the race in Saturday's Wakeful Stakes (2000m).

She also races in Dato Tan's black and white checks which represent his other great passion, chess.
