Since beating Red Ruler in the AJC Australian Derby at Randwick, Nom Du Jeu has chalked up a frustrating sequence of placings in Australasia's best races, highlighted by his second to All The Good in the Caulfield Cup.
The four-year-old is set to resume in the weight-for-age Waikato Sprint (1400m) at Te Rapa on Saturday.
Other New Zealand nominations for the BMW include Group One winner Gallions Reach, the Paddy Busuttin-trained Six O'Clock News and the 2008 New Zealand Cup winner Hoorang.
Gallions Reach, trained by Richard Yuill, won the Group One Zabeel Classic (2000m) at Ellerslie on Boxing Day.
The STC on Monday received a total of 21 entries for the BMW ahead of Tuesday's 3pm deadline for nominations.
Bart Cummings has nominated three horses - Melbourne Cup winner Viewed, 2008 placegetter Sirmione and Moatize.
Melbourne trainer Mark Kavanagh has matched Cummings in the numbers stakes, entering Cox Plate winner Maldivian, Caulfield Guineas winner Whobegotyou and the emerging Dr Doute's.
Golden Slipper second acceptances will also close at 3pm on Tuesday.
Highly-fancied Slipper candidates, Melbourne star Rostova and Saturday's Rosehill winner Marquardt, won't be among second acceptances because connections didn't pay the original $350 yearling nomination fee.
To have their horses included in the final field, connections will to part with a $150,000 late entry fee.
The $3.5 million Golden Slipper (1200m) and the weight-for-age BMW (2400m) will be run at Rosehill on April 4.
