Deposed Stradbroke Handicap favourite Sincero is still a chance to run in the $1 million sprint.

Trainer Stephen Farley put the Stradbroke back on Sincero's agenda on Monday, a move confirmed when lightweight jockey Jason Taylor was placed on standby for the Group One ride.

Taylor confirmed he held a Stradbroke booking for Sincero who will carry 50.5kg when weights are raised at acceptance time.

Sincero is also nominated for Saturday's Queensland Guineas but Taylor is optimistic about the gelding taking his place in the Stradbroke field.

"After speaking to Stephen, I've got my fingers crossed he is favouring the Stradbroke," Taylor said.

Glen Boss was in line for the Stradbroke ride on Sincero until the three-year-old finished down the track as favourite in the QTC Cup with Tim Clark in the saddle.

As a result of his 4-1/2 length 11th to Varenna Miss, Sincero's Stradbroke quote almost doubled to $9.50.

But Taylor said it would be foolish to write-off Sincero's Stradbroke chances.

"I rode in the race (the QTC Cup) and I can understand what happened to the horse," he said.

"Being a three-year-old he probably got a bit lost with some of the buffeting that happened.

"Actually the experience has probably done him the world of good.

"We can't be too critical. It's obvious he's got the score on the board and you've got to forgive these horses one run like that."

Taylor said reports suggesting Farley had already committed to adding blinkers to Sincero's gear in the Stradbroke were premature.

"Stephen will be experimenting with the blinkers when I ride Sincero in a gallop at Deagon on Wednesday.

"But I think putting them on is a great move. They'll help him focus."

Taylor, who won the 2001 Brisbane Cup on Star Covet when the race was a Group One event over 3200m, believes the intensity of the Stradbroke can work in Sincero's favour.

"The Stradbroke is always a high-pressure race," he said.

"I've watched most of his races and from what I have seen it will suit Sincero's style of racing if he can roll into it from the half-mile.

"Actually it would be nice not to draw an inside barrier."

Doomben 10,000 winner Beaded is the Stradbroke favourite at $5 with Black Piranha, chasing a third straight win in the race on the next line of betting at $6.50.

In Brisbane Cup news, imported galloper Glass Harmonium is firming as a starter.

Glass Harmonium won his first Australian race on Saturday when he led all-the-way in the Eagle Farm Cup, beating home Shoot Out and Scenic Shot.

Clark, meanwhile, was confirmed as the Stradbroke jockey for $35 chance Ladys Angel despite uncertainty surrounding the Sydney mare getting into the field.

Ladys Angel is 25th in the final order of entry.
