A considerable weight drop should help offset the rise in class for lightly-raced mare Royal Rock who is chasing an overdue win in the Mona Lisa Stakes at Wyong.

The four-year-old goes into Sunday's Listed feature off two close seconds at Rosehill and Goulburn.

Royal Rock drops 4.5 kilograms from the 58.5kg she carried in the Goulburn Rose (1300m) on November 21 and trainer Guy Walter believes she is overdue for a victory.

"She deserves a change of luck and the drop in weight will help," Walter said.

"I think the 1350 metres will suit her but barrier ten is not the best.

"But she is a very talented mare and gets her chance."

Walter won the 2005 Mona Lisa with the classy Johan's Toy who went on to run second in both the Epsom and Doncaster Handicaps.

However, he doesn't have such lofty ambitions for Royal Rock, at least not yet.

"She is very lightly raced and still improving," he said.

"It's too soon to be thinking too far ahead."

Royal Rock has raced on 10 occasions for two wins and four placings.

At her only other start in stakes company she had a luckless time when unplaced in the Listed Nivison (1200m) in September.

The $100,000 Mona Lisa for fillies and mares attracted a field of 14 including Ratatat Lass and Mary's Grace who gave trainer Kylie Gavenlock a rare quinella at Randwick two weeks ago.

Topweight with 56.5kg is Goulburn mare Throne Inn who is seeking her first win since the Group Three Birthday Card (1200m) in April.

Ratatat Lass was the $4.40 favourite on TAB Sportsbet fixed odds on Saturday with Mary's Grace at $4.80 ahead of Royal Rock at $5.50 and Throne Inn at $6 alongside Espurante.

The Wyong meeting also features the $200,000 Magic Millions Slipper (1000m) for two-year-olds and the $100,000 Magic Millions Classic (1200m) for three-year-olds.
