Peter Robl returns to Sydney racing at Canterbury on Wednesday after breaking his collarbone in a fall at the track in late January.

The Group One-winning rider made his race comeback from the injury at Wagga on Sunday and has four rides at the Canterbury meeting including three-year-old Essence'nrestraint in the Stephen Hood Handicap (1200m) for Patinack Farm.

"I rode at Wagga on Sunday and the shoulder is quite good," Robl said.

"I had three rides and got through them with no dramas.

"It's great to be back and I'll just take the next few weeks to get my way back into it."

Essence'nrestraint is a three-year-old colt by Hussonet who finished third on debut in a 1000m Maiden at Hawkesbury on April 1.

Robl hasn't had a great deal to do with the colt due to his injury but expects a forward showing.

"He's a nice colt who went well first-up," Robl said.

"He got a bit of a squeeze at about the furlong (200m), the blinkers go on him tomorrow just so he races a bit truer and it looks a nice race for him."

Robl's other rides at Canterbury are Our Mosstique, Miss Macarthur and Century Serb.

Miss Macarthur, another John Thompson-trained runner, was beaten five lengths in a 1200m fillies and mares maiden at Newcastle on April 10.

That was the Encosta De Lago filly's second start from a year-long layoff.

Robl rode the filly in her two starts as a two-year-old, finishing second in a 2YO fillies event at Warwick Farm on debut and then seventh to More Joyous in the Reisling Stakes.

"She's a nice filly who's had a couple of runs back over unsuitable distances," Robl said.

"She's drawn wide (13) and will be better when she gets up over a mile (1600m) later on but hopefully she'll be finding the line."

The Clarry Conners-trained Our Mosstique has only won two of his 39 career starts but both victories were with Robl in the saddle.

Robl's only ride on Century Serb was back in August 2007 at Rosehill.

Robl has ridden three Group One winners with his most recent major victory coming in the TJ Smith Stakes (1600m) for two-year-olds in Brisbane last year aboard Linky Dink.

He heads back to Eagle Farm this Saturday when he is booked to ride Honest Truth in the Mick Dittman Plate (1000m).
