The Mike Moroney-trained Divine Rebel is back on track after a setback with a skin irritation and will be out to maintain her unbeaten record in Australia at Sandown on Saturday.

Trainer Mike Moroney said the promising Don Eduardo mare had to be scratched from the Group Two Matriarch Stakes (2000m) at Flemington during the spring carnival and hasn't raced since.

"We had to treat her and couldn't run her so we decided then that we'd turn her out after three runs," he said.

"There wasn't a lot left for her so we thought we'd leave her for the summer and autumn."

Divine Rebel came to Australia from New Zealand as an Ellerslie 2100m maiden winner, but she had been runner-up at her previous three starts and later contested the Group One NZ Oaks (2400m) finishing 11th to Boundless at Trentham.

She then ran a solid fifth to Our Valpolicella in the MGU Classic (2000m) at Awapuni late last March.

The four-year-old resumed with a 3-3/4 length win over 1400m at Warrnambool on September 9 before successive victories over 1600m and 2040m at Moonee Valley.

Apprentice Nick Hall, who has ridden Divine Rebel in two of her wins, will ride her in the Aare Hcp (1300m) in which she will carry 53.5kg, only 0.5kg above the minimum with the aid of Hall's 1.5kg allowance.

Meanwhile, Pat Carey says he couldn't be happier with 2007 VRC Oaks (2500m) winner Arapaho Miss who will carry topweight of 61.5kg in the Aare.

"She looks the best she's looked in her career, I'm really happy with her," he said.

"There wasn't much of her when she won the Oaks but she has filled out and matured. She's really furnished out lovely."

The Danehill Dancer four-year-old raced four times over the spring after having a small chip taken out of her knee after she finished 16th to Weekend Hussler in the Group One Randwick Guineas (1600m) in late March.

"She recovered really well and I didn't want to let her go too long without racing her so I gave her a light spring, but she had a niggling back injury which prevented her from getting to her best," Carey said.

"But her last run showed she was starting to get to somewhere near where we want to be."

That effort was a solid seventh to Bird Of Fire in the Matriarch Stakes.

"The aim is to have her right for the spring and get her back out to a mile and a half (2400m)," Carey said.

"She'll have a nice autumn and hopefully she'll race on as a five-year-old mare in mile and a half handicaps."

Carey said he took the precaution of nominating Arapaho Miss for the $1 million Australian Cup (2000m) at Flemington on March 7 in case she returned to something like her best form.

He said her lead-up performances, including the Group Two Sunline Stakes (1600m) at Moonee Valley on February 14, would enable him to assess her.

Steven King will ride Arapaho Miss on Saturday.
