Stewards cracked the whip on jockeys' infringements at Doomben on Saturday with four of the country's top riders suspended.

Sydney jockey Nash Rawiller was suspended for five meetings and will miss the Group One Queensland Oaks meeting next month following his 11th infringement of the controversial new whip rules.

Rawiller was found guilty of striking his mount Gold Water more than 11 times with the whip in a forehand manner over the final 100 metres of the Group One Doomben Cup (2020m) won by the Chris Waller-trained Metal Bender.

Gold Water was beaten a head by Metal Bender after they were involved in a titanic struggle down the straight.

A clearly stunned Rawiller gave no indication whether he planned to appeal but asked stewards for a transcript of the hearing which he hopes to receive on Monday.

Melbourne rider Michael Rodd pleaded guilty to a careless riding charge aboard Dariana in the Group Three Doomben Roses and was suspended for six meetings commencing after the Doomben 10,000, while Stathi Katsidis was outed on a similar charge but will be free to ride last year's Golden Slipper winner Phelan Ready in next week's Group One Doomben 10,000.

Katsidis was suspended for seven meetings commencing at midnight next Saturday until June 10.

He returns in time for the Group One Stradbroke Handicap meeting at Eagle Farm two days later.

Katsidis pleaded not guilty to a charge of allowing his mount, Ambitious Princess, to shift in when not clear of Sydney filly Shabana in the Doomben Roses.

"I know I caused a problem but I'm pleading not guilty because I think Larry Cassidy's mount (Shabana) had a lot to do with it," Katsidis said.

"I'm probably 50 per cent guilty but if Larry Cassidy's mount had raced in a true manner then there's not much in it."

Katsidis said he was unlikely to appeal his suspension.

A new rider will have to be found for Brisbane colt Adebisi in the Group Two Sires' Produce Stakes (1400m) at Eagle Farm on June 5 after Shane Scriven was also suspended for the same period as Katsidis.

Trainer Desleigh Forster earmarked the Sires' Produce for Adebisi following the colt's fourth to Pressday in the Group Two Champagne Classic (1200m).

Scriven's indiscretion occurred on Femina Fashion who was runner-up in the Doomben Roses.
