Nash Rawiller will try to increase his jockeys' premiership lead at Rosehill on Saturday with help from a stable usually involved in title duels with the trainer who made him a force in Sydney racing.

Rawiller has taken four rides for Peter Snowden - the Darley trainer left without his number one and number two stable jockeys for the Civic Stakes meeting.

Snowden is closing in on his first Sydney trainers' premiership at the expense of Rawiller's boss Gai Waterhouse.

With a month left, Waterhouse is almost certain to relinquish the crown won in last-gasp fashion on the final day of the 2008-09 season.

Her victory continued more than a decade of sharing the premiership with Crown Lodge when John Hawkes was in charge before his departure paved the way for Snowden to take over.

Waterhouse is in third place on 68 winners behind Snowden (91) with only Chris Waller (78) considered a faint hope of reeling in the leader.

Rawiller holds a six-win lead over Corey Brown and he can thank his irrepressible form - and manager Glenn Darcey - for the strength of his Rosehill book.

Darcey is also the booking agent for Kerrin McEvoy, Darley's head jockey who faces an extended time on the sideline after suffering a serious back injury in a fall last week, while his usual replacement Josh Parr is suspended.

"Having Nash available to ride for Darley is a bonus to his chances of winning the premiership," Darcey said.

"It's also worked out well for the stable ... getting a jockey who is in such great form."

Rawiller's rides for Darley have been few and far between since he arrived in Sydney to link with Tulloch Lodge in 2007.

"It won't be the first time he has ridden for Peter but he hasn't had many rides for the stable overall," Darcey said.

Rawiller will partner Falaise, one of three runners Snowden will saddle up in the feature race on Saturday - the $100,000 Civic Stakes (1400m).

Falaise, a seven-year-old with 10 wins from 52 starts, will be trying to bow out of racing with a victory in the Listed race.

TAB Sportsbet has opened Falaise as one of the outsiders in the eight-horse field at $12 with the Rosehill-trained Madibagold the $3.60 favourite.

Rawiller's other Darley rides are Killian (race one), Giresun (race two) and Juveniles (race eight).

Snowden has also called on Blake Shinn, Rod Quinn and Chris O'Brien for Rosehill rides.

Rawiller has also played a key role in Waller's premiership surge this season, highlighted by their Doncaster Mile success with Rangirangdoo.

However, Waller has only a modest Rosehill representation as he tries to conjure an improbable premiership victory.
