Predatory Pricer has enjoyed an immaculate preparation for Saturday's Group One Randwick Guineas with trainer Paul Murray quietly confident about the colt's chances in the feature.

"He's going enormous, he galloped last Thursday then Saturday and had another hitout on Tuesday and is spot-on for this," Murray said.

The only thing Murray is concerned about ahead of the $550,000 1600-metre race is the prospect of a wet track.

"I don't want any rain but they've forecast showers, hopefully there is nothing too heavy," Murray said.

"But he'll run regardless because he needs this mile to get him ready for the (AJC Australian) Derby next month."

Predatory Pricer finished six lengths second to Sousa on a slow track at Randwick in the Spring Champion Stakes last year at his only tilt at Group One level.

The Street Cry colt is a half-brother to international sprint king Takeover Target and comes into the Guineas after running seventh in the Group Two Hobartville Stakes (1400m) at Rosehill on February 28.

"It was just a sprinters' race and I thought his run was very good," Murray said.

"He was only about three-and-a-half lengths behind Mic Mac and was never really extended.

"Those horses who finished in front of him had races under their belts this prep and you'll see a much fitter horse this time and a much-improved performance too."

Regular jockey Glyn Schofield agrees with Murray that Predatory Pricer will be right in the finish.

"It was a terrific run in the Hobartville, he finished pretty close to them," Schofield said.

"He'll be much better for that run and will run a huge race I'm sure."

TAB Sportsbet has Hobartville winner Mic Mac and runner-up Caymans locked in favouritism for the Guineas at $4.50 ahead of Youthful Jack at $4.80.

Predatory Pricer is rated at $11.

Stablemate Bopalula runs in the Group Three Randwick City Stakes (2000m) and Murray admitted the mare would have to improve to be competitive.

Bopalula has had a frustrating campaign with two seconds, a third and two fourths from her six starts to go with her fifth to Vision And Power in the Parramatta Cup on February 21.

"She's been a little bit disappointing but we've taken the blinkers off her and she has worked pretty good this week, so we're hoping she'll bounce back," Murray said.

The AJC Australian Derby (2400m) is at Randwick on April 11.
