The recent dominance of on-pace runners at Rosehill is trainer Gary Portelli's only concern for Lighthorseman in his bid to post his second successive win on Saturday.

The majority of winners at Rosehill seven days ago either led or raced handy to the speed and jockeys steered a course away from the fence.

Lighthorseman's usual racing pattern is to find his feet early and finish strongly and Portelli is hoping that doesn't prove a disadvantage.

"Corey Brown rides but I just hope the track plays fairer this weekend," Portelli said.

"Last Saturday if you weren't in the right lane and position you were no hope of winning.

"It's very strange that it played that way, although a lot of it was probably tempo-related."

A $900,000 yearling purchase, Lighthorseman is on the comeback trail from a throat operation and indicated he was poised to deliver on the promise he has shown with an emphatic first-up win at Randwick.

The son of Redoute's Choice will line up in the Wiltshire Hcp (1100m) and has drawn barrier five in the field of nine.

Test Edition will also fly the flag for Portelli when he resumes in the Kraft Foods Hcp (1400m).

The six-year-old has won three of his six first-up runs although his best form is on rain-affected tracks.

"He's ready to go first-up and he's a good first-up horse," Portelli said.

"The only thing is he's resuming in open company whereas in the past he has raced in restricted grade.

"It's going to be a bit harder for him to win but he should run up to his best."

Allervite runs in the same race as Lighthorseman while Belle Soleil in the Chef Inox Hcp (1300m) will round out Portelli's Rosehill team although the Warwick Farm horseman won't be on hand to watch them go round.

He will be in New Zealand to cheer home A Gold Trail as he attempts to add Saturday's $NZ1 million Telegraph Hcp (1200m) to his Group One Railway Stakes victory earlier this month.
