Dan Nikolic is concentrating on ending the autumn on a high when he rides Solo Flyer in the final Group One race of the carnival in the All-Aged Stakes at Randwick on Saturday.
Nikolic is looking to finalise a winter move to Mauritius in the next few days that would involve riding for leading trainer Budheswar Gujadhur until the season ends there in September.
"I've been speaking to a consultant who is acting on behalf of a stable and they are sending me a contract and I'll sit down and have a good look at it and make a decision soon," Nikolic said.
"I've been told it can be very lucrative over there if you are riding winners, and because I am not tied to a stable and winter is a quiet time for me I think it would be a good option.
"But for now I am concentrating on Saturday."
Nikolic takes over from Corey Brown on the Anthony Cummings-trained Solo Flyer who comes into the 1400-metre All-Aged following a close-up ninth to Vision And Power in the Doncaster at Randwick on Saturday.
"He wasn't that far off them in the Doncaster, less than two lengths, and I thought the run had plenty of merit," Nikolic said.
"He's drawn a bit awkwardly in 15 but he is in very good shape for the race and I'm expecting him to be thereabouts again."
Prior to the Doncaster, Solo Flyer returned from a long spell to record three consecutive wins including the Group Three Newmarket Handicap (1400m) at Newcastle and the Group Two Ajax Stakes (1500m) at Rosehill.
Nikolic's first Group One ride of the day is for Victorian trainer Mick Price on Miss Maren in the Queen Elizabeth Stakes (2000m).
He will be going up against the Jack Denham-trained Metal Bender who he rode to win the Group One Rosehill-Randwick Guineas double.
Hugh Bowman has replaced Nikolic on Metal Bender.
"I just need to focus on the horse I'm riding and when Mick Price brings them to Sydney he does it because he thinks they can win, so I'll be concentrating on giving her the best ride I can and she is a horse in great form," Nikolic said.
Miss Maren comes into the race after winning her fourth consecutive race in the Group Three Easter Cup (2000m) at Caulfield on April 11.
