More Joyous has been cleared to take up a Cox Plate challenge that one corporate bookmaker believes will be an exercise in futility.

As a veterinary inspection gave More Joyous a clean bill of health on Monday, a bookmaker was preparing an early pay out on So You Think as the winner of the famous weight-for-age race.

"The Gai Waterhouse stable has advised Racing Victoria stewards that More Joyous has passed a veterinary examination today (and will take her place in the Cox Plate field)," a Racing Victoria statement said.

"She will gallop in preparation at Flemington tomorrow morning."

Tulloch Lodge spokesman Mark Webbey said everything was in order for More Joyous as she chases a third Group One win from her past three starts.

"We've paid up for her (in the Cox Plate) and she's fine," Webbey said.

"The inspection was more precautionary than anything."

While owner John Singleton is satisfied More Joyous is ready to take on the racing megastar So You Think, Australian bookmaker Sportsbet says the much-hyped clash will be a non-event.

The online bookmaker believes the Cox Plate is a one-horse race and has already paid out more than $250,000 for pre-post investments on So You Think.

"So You Think is clearly our worst result in the Cox Plate but we think the race is a foregone conclusion," Sportsbet's Matthew Tripp said.

"As a bookmaker I know there is no such thing as a sure thing in racing, but this horse is about as close as you can get."

So You Think if being offered around the country at a general quote of $1.50.

At that price, last year's winner will be the shortest-priced Cox Plate favourite since Lonhro was beaten into third place as a $1.60 hot-pot in 2003.

But there's at least one bookmaker is keen to extend his liability on the Bart Cummings-trained four-year-old.

Sportingbet Australia's Michael Sullivan says So You Think is already a disastrous result but he wants more action on the favourite and is offering $1.55 before Tuesday's barrier draw.

"So You Think is a black-out already both straight out and through the doubles but I am keen to go right on with him now at this quote," Sullivan said.

"I think he is a definite risk especially if the rain keeps coming and we have wound his price back out despite the weight of money."

Favourites who have won the Cox Plate when well into the red include Phar Lap and Tobin Bronze.

Phar Lap started at 1-14 or $1.07 in today's figures when he won the race for a second time in 1931.

Tobin Bronze was sent out at 1-6 ($1.17) when he beat six rivals in 1967.

So You Think has started odds-on at his past two starts, winning the Underwood Stakes at $1.75 and the Yalumba Stakes at $1.40.
