Toowoomba filly Miss Imagica has been made one of the favourites to win the Magic Millions Guineas after she was a late entry for the $1 million race.

The Michael Nolan-trained three-year-old, winner of a $100,000 feature race on her home track last start, is on the third line of TAB Sportsbet markets at $8.

"We originally just nominated for the fillies and mares race for that date then we saw that the two main chances in Toorak Toff and Squamosa were out (of the Guineas)," Nolan said.

"So we thought we would throw a late nomination in and just see what happens. With those two horses out it has opened the field up a bit."

Top Drop heads the market at $4.60 ahead of Intencion at $6.50.

Miss Imagica has won four of her 10 starts but three of her victories have been on the Toowoomba cushion track.

Nolan said he would wait until closer to acceptance time before deciding whether to run in the Guineas or the fillies and mares race.

The Magic Millions Guineas is run over 1400m while the $200,000 fillies and mares event is over 1300m.

"They (Toorak Toff and Squamosa) were probably too hard to beat at set weights but now they are not in it there's more of a Queensland feel to the race and it might be worth running," Nolan said.

"We probably should have originally nominated for it but at the time we thought it was too strong. Now we think it might not be as strong."

Miss Imagica came from near last to win over 1200m at Toowoomba by two lengths on December 23.

"That was on the cushion and she's very good on the cushion track," Nolan said.

"She has won on the grass but she might not be as good on the grass, so we've got to weigh that up."

Nolan also paid a late entry fee for stablemate Ghostnthedarkness, a $26 chance.

Other late nominations for the Magic Millions Guineas were the Anthony Cummings-trained Party Hard ($26) and the Pat Duff-trained Steel Zip ($81).
