Magic Millions riches await Koblenz if she can overcome a wide barrier and live up to trainer Gary Portelli's expectations at Randwick.

Many of the 13 fillies in Saturday's 1000m race, ironically sponsored by rival sales company William Inglis, will be on trial for the $2 million Magic Millions race at the Gold Coast on January 10.

Koblenz finished second on debut to the David Payne-trained juvenile Cortina Gal in the $200,000 Wyong Slipper earlier this month.

Her task at Randwick has not been made easier by drawing barrier 12 of 13 but Portelli is optimistic.

"It won't be easy from the barrier but I hope to get her to the Magic Millions," Portelli said.

"We might just need a bit of luck."

Despite being beaten by Cortina Gal, Koblenz is at $13 in TAB Sportsbet's Magic Millions market while her rival is a $15 chance.

Fast Talker, one of two runners in the Randwick race for the Lee Freedman stable, is a $21 Magic Millions chance while stablemate Tariks is at $71.

Queensland filly Paprika remains the dominant favourite at $3.

The Portelli-trained Belle Soleil is an $18 chance for the Magic Millions Trophy for three-year-olds.

The filly won the three-year-old race on Millions day at Wyong.

Stable rider Dwayne Dunn will be aboard Fast Talker with Danny Nikolic to ride Tariks and Glyn Schofield Koblenz.

The Portelli-trained Gunner Knox will make his debut in the two-year-old colts and geldings division at Randwick where he comes up against Shellscrape from the Chris Waller stable.

Both are owned by Geoff Grimish with Shellscrape the veteran of two starts.

On both occasions he ran second to exciting filly Phenomenal Lass and Waller is looking for a turnaround.

"He has been penalised in the weights for his race experience and both races have been set up for something coming from behind," Waller said.

"Hopefully that's not the case this time."
